I had a CT Scan a couple weeks ago, and an appointment with my oncologist on Monday to go over the results.
As he read over the results, he said words like “enlarged soft tissue” and “increased fluid” and stuff like that, which lead me to think bad things. The dimension of my formerly cancerous tissue in the previous scan (around six months ago) was 4.3x3.1 cm. This scan said it was 5.4x1.5 cm.
My doctor said it’s nothing he’s worried about. These things happen when different people look at different scans. The tissue is still roughly the same size. I’m not experiencing any symptoms, and my blood work is normal for someone who’s underwent chemotherapy and radiation.
So in the course of the 5 minute visit I had with the good doctor, I experienced nervous nausea, sweaty palms, and that melted away into nervous chuckling and wiping my hands on my pants.
Follow-up PET Scan in 6 months to make sure there’s no new uptake.
Deal?
